Character Interview with Willa from Pretty Crooked (Pretty Crooked Blog Tour)

Today we have Willa from Pretty Crooked here for a character interview! This post is part of The Teen Book Scene's blog tour for Pretty Crooked by Elisa Ludwig. You can find out all about the tour here. Make sure to visit all the other stops if you'd like to know more about Pretty Crooked!

1. Name three of your favorite and three of your least favorite things!

Favorite: My bike, my mom's no-bake cashew cookies, shopping

Least Favorite Major hills, bullies, burglar alarms

2. How did moving around so much before you got to Arizona shape your personality and your relationships with others?
You just get kind of used to not being tight with many people, you know? I didn't want to bother getting to know everyone because I knew we'd be moving again soon, so it was always easier to just hang back and keep to myself. The plus side is that I always had my mom.

3. How is Valley Prep different from the previous schools you went to?

OMG. Where do I even begin? It's beautfiful and luxurious and it's... serious. Everyone's here to go to college and be exceptional. The teachers are up in our business. And the food is to die for.

4. If you could do it over, what do you think you could do to really help the scholarship girls, Mary, Alicia, and Sierra?

I think I would probably just befriend them and stick up for them the old-fashioned way.

5. Do you think what you did had any lasting effect on the social order of Valley Prep, the Glitterati and the ValleyBuzz?

It might be too soon to tell. But I hope that at least people realized that it didn't have to be the way it was, that we didn't have to put up with the nastiness and that being mean doesn't make you cool.

Thanks for the great interview answers, Willa!

Thanks so much, Hannah. The Sly Fox owes you one!

Make sure to check out all the other stops of the tour, and keep your eye out for Pretty Crooked, which is out today! Come back tomorrow to check out my review of Pretty Crooked!

Willa's secret plan seems all too simple: take from the rich kids at Valley Prep and give to the poor ones. Yet Willa’s turn as Robin Hood at her ultra-exclusive high school is anything but. Bilking her “friends”—known to everyone as the Glitterati—without them suspecting a thing is far from easy. Learning how to pick pockets and break into lockers is as difficult as she’d thought it’d be. Delivering care packages to the scholarship girls, who are ostracized just for being from the “wrong” side of town, is way more fun than she’d expected.
The complication Willa didn’t expect, though, is Aidan Murphy, Valley Prep’s most notorious (and gorgeous) ace-degenerate. His mere existence is distracting Willa from what matters most to her: evening the social playing field between the haves and have-nots. There’s no time for crushes and flirting with boys, especially conceited and obnoxious trust-funders like Aidan.
But when the cops start investigating the string of thefts at Valley Prep and the Glitterati begin to seek revenge, could Aidan wind up being the person that Willa trusts most?
